We are coming up on the final lesson in our two month study of the Gospel of Mark. In November, we begin studying the book of James. David Platt, senior pastor at the Church of Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, is one of the most solid Bible teachers I know. He is working through James verse by verse in his current series. You can watch the video right here, or subscribe to the podcast on I-Tunes.
Friends, let me know if this is a resource you like to have on the Parent2Parent website. And if… Continue

Hey friends! Hot off the press, here is a Baptist Press article about how one church (Florida Boulevard Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA) is using the redesigned Life Truths to create new classes and reach unchurched parents. It is a great article, and I hope you guys might follow their example, and co… Continue

Hey friends! I wanted to let you know we turned on the Photos option. This will allow you guys to post photos from your Sunday school class get togethers and mission projects right here on P2P. At this point, I am not setting it for the photos to appear on the main page, but you should be able to see them on your group pages.
Don't forget-- starting a group for your Sunday school class is a great way to build relationships within your class. You can use the Events tool to schedule events for yo… Continue

We talked in the September 6 lesson about the impact it must have had on Jesus to have heard His heavenly Father say, "You are my beloved Son; I take delight in You!" We talked in the class I teach about how much that hearing that word of blessing from His Father meant to Jesus. We know He immediately after this He was driven into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. Did you ever wonder if the Father's blessing helped give Jesus the strength He needed to resist temptation? W… Continue

After just a couple of days, our poll was already outdated. We started the poll by telling you there were eight states with no one registered on Parent2Parent. By the end of the week, only five states still did not have any P2P members!. Still, 29% of you guessed that Maine was the one choice that was without a P2P representative.
The map below shows where our P2P activity is most concentrated. The darker the green, the more activity from that state.

Hey friends--
From an Andy Stanley sermon a couple of weeks ago:
"People who were nothing like Jesus, liked Jesus. And those whom Jesus was nothing like, Jesus liked."
I thought of that as I was getting ready for this morning. Blessings on your day! If you want to hear the whole sermon, click on the link below, and select the message entitled "Our Sunday Best."

A message to all members of Parent2Parent
Hello community members--
On page 13 of the September 6 LifeTruths lesson, there is a suggestion in the "Click with your Kids" feature to check out a particular blog with several galleries of depictions of Jesus, in both classical and modern art. When we went to print several months ago, we did not see problems with any of the galleries. In the ensuing months since we went to print, however, those galleries have been updated with some offensive images.… Continue

Well, friends, many of you passed out the new material this past Sunday, and so we have had a huge influx of new members to the Parent2Parent community. And one of the biggest questions we have had so far is, "Where are the E-Votions? On page 10 of the Leader Guide there's a tab for e-votions across the top, but I don't see that."
This was my bad as the editor. In the several months since we sent the Fall 2009 issue to the printer, I have been monkeying with the design of the P2P community site… Continue
You might have noticed a new tab at the top of the Parent2Parent page this morning, called "Events." No, this doesn't mean Parent2Parent is about to launch a national tour (although that would be kind of cool!). Here's what it does mean:
You may already know that you as a member of the P2P community can start groups of other members of the community. In addition to the groups we already have, such as Trendwatcher, Flying Solo, Special Needs, and so forth, you can start a group for your Sunday s… Continue

Hello friends! If you are a current user of Life Truths Bible study material, you will find an article on page 91 of the Learner Guide about the work that the Lord is doing through missionaries in the South Pacific. We received this update from our contact at the International Mission Board that goes along with that article. God is so good!
Among the "Sayang" (name changed), there’s no running water. And the soil is too rocky to grow anything. So why do they stay? Because they heard something p… Continue

In our poll this week, we asked the question, "How many of you have Sunday School classes for parents in your church?" Currently, it looks like the "no's" are outpacing the "yesses" by about two to one. And as I've talked with lots of people about our Life Truths Bible study curriculum, I've found myself clarifying the difference between a parenting Bible study and a Bible study for parents quite a few times. So maybe we are asking the question wrong.
There are several great parenting Bible stu… Continue
Okay, I am pretty sure I just lost half of my audience. Every mother is saying to herself-- "What does HE know about birthing a baby?" Well, truth is, not much. But I do understand the expectation and the joy. I understand (second hand, admittedly) about the pain of the labor. And,… Continue
Should your church begin a new Sunday school class just for parents? Picture the following scene:
Kim and Darrel speed into the church parking lot, ten minutes late and already frazzled from the battle of getting their preschool daughter and middle-school son fed, dressed, strapped in, and motivated for church that morning. Kim rushes to the children's Sunday school hall to get Chloe checked in. Darrel is trying to find the chairman of the deacons to explain why he won't be at their meeting Mon… Continue
